COLCHESTER United were beaten 4-1 at home by Doncaster Rovers, on Tuesday night.

The defeat leaves Danny Cowley's side still needing a point to be sure of their League Two safety, ahead of their final game of the season against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

U's fans have their say on a disappointing night, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Needed changes just to get fresh legs into midfield. Naïve football second half. Donny were happy at 2-1 so take a chance to equalise if it comes but accept that losing by one isn't a terrible outcome.

David Clayton

The lack of character & pride is staggering. We’re still in the driving seat but Sutton will be so encouraged by this result. Team needs support on Saturday but Cowleys need to clear out 2/3 of this squad, whatever league we are in.

Better than Saturday, but wasn’t good enough still. Dislike the negativity from some U’S fans. We go Saturday

John

Very disappointed, but we need to keep going. Us fans need to play our part Saturday and support the boys for the whole 90 minutes. Biggest game of the season Saturday.

RichSwin

Need some backbone to see this season out now. They all need to show character and find a way to stand up to see this out. 1 point does it. They were playing well for 75 mins. 2-1 wasnt a disaster. The extra 2 goals shipped hurt. That second half capitulation was painful to watch

The foot we had in league 2 next season has been lifted and is hovering in the air. Saturday will decide the trajectory of the club for the next 5 years I think

Ian

Never a 4-1 on balance of play, yet somehow we contrived to concede 4 goals. These mistakes could cost us our league status and all of them are such basic mistakes, that’s the worst part of all this. Could so easily be safe by now. Squeaky bum time is an understatement.

Dave B

Confidence crusher. Team looked like they extended all their energy in the first half as the second was abject. Why no substitutions to give us some fresh legs?

Thoughts... OK we play like that on Saturday we are in trouble... won't sugar coat it. Mk will rest players and Sutton will be up for it. We need to be or we are down. Simple as that. Fight til the end but we have made it even harder for ourselves... again

Michael O'Brien

Abject. Players not interested and clearly not fussed about going down. If there was ever an indictment of how far we have fallen under the Cowling era it is tonight.

Georgina Davies

So frustrating, don't know what Matt jay has to do to get on the pitch, onto Saturday and hope we don't concede anymore goals

Unacceptable standard of football at this level. It was a return to form similar to the Etherington games.

Si Collinson

Very disheartening. Losing by three goals has really dented our GD, something that was an ace up our sleeve, now not so. Midfield was flat today and gaps killed us. Saturday will not be fun.

Dan Vonklinkenhoffen

Complete overhaul after Saturday’s result regardless of which league we end up in. Too many players robbing a wage who aren’t good enough. Unfortunately this is from poor recruitment and relying on youngsters with over inflated egos
