Braintree Lawn Tennis Club held their Junior Open singles tournament.
The event, a grade six tournament supported by the Lawn Tennis Association, attracted entrants from a wide area of Essex, along with six other counties.
The boys' events were all well-supported but the girls' competition had a much-reduced entry, so they had to be all played in one event.
Play in all events was at a high standard and, in contrast to last year, it was played in sunshine throughout.
For some players it was their first experience of grass court play and, for a few, their first tournament.
Rating points were available for all matches, as the format used was three sets in all matches.
Individual trophies were presented by Braintree Lawn Tennis Club president Philip Welch.
The club have thanked all who helped with the tournament, which was sponsored by Essex Tennis Courts Ltd of Maldon.
