LOUISA Storey was a clear winner as Colchester Golf Club's ladies battled it out in the Coronation Cup.

She finished five shots ahead of runner-up Cassie Cunningham at the event, which was played as a medal format over two rounds.

Storey (seven) recorded a first-round nett 69 and followed that up with a nett 78, putting her five shots clear of two players on totals of 152.

Cunningham (four) was second with rounds of 75 and 77, ahead of third-placed Cathy Burchell (ten) in third with rounds of 74 and 78 nett.

After the front nine of her first round, Storey was one under gross and but for a seven on the 17th, her back nine would have also been a similar quality.

Roberta Bodsworth (19) with a total of 156 finished fourth with three players returning nett 159s - Rix (seven), Jane Reed (12) and Shelley Persent (17).
