Adam Flint said he appreciates the trust that Witham Town have placed in him in asking him to be their permanent manager.

Having steered the club to Ryman League division north safety during a nine-game tenure as caretaker boss, Flint has been rewarded with the permanent position and can now start planning for next season.

Under Flint’s guidance, the team won four, drew one and lost four of their final nine games of the season as they secured their place with two games to go.

The campaign ended on a high note at the Village Glass Stadium as Scott Kemp’s last-minute winner sealed a 3-2 victory against Cheshunt last wekeend and they will now be looking to take that positive finish into the summer and beyond with Flint’s hand properly on the tiller.

He said: “Everyone at the club has been brilliant.

“They have all supported me and I really appreciate that.

“I really appreciate the opportunity that the club have given me as it’s something that I have wanted to do.

“It’s tough to get that chance, but I intend to take this one and I want to bring the good times back to Witham Town.”

Flint confirmed that he would continue working with James Robinson and Curtis Whyte, who had been assistant boss and coach respectively during his spell as caretaker manager, and was already making plans to shape his squad ahead of next season.
