THE Thurlow Nunn League have confirmed that next season will kick-off with a division one fixture between Wivenhoe Town and Woodbridge.

The sides will meet at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium on Friday, August 7.

The match is to be the first of a series of Friday evening league fixtures to be scheduled during the course of the season.

Meanwhile, the league have announced details of two more groundhopper events, giving supporters the chance to see four matches in 24 hours.

It follows the success of similar events over the past three seasons.

As part of the first, Wivenhoe will travel to Cornard United on Saturday, September 19 (kick-off 12pm).

The second event will then finish with a match between Whitton United and Brantham Athletic, at 6pm on Saturday, March 5.

The full premier division fixtures should be released later this week, but the division one schedule will not be available for at least another fortnight.

This is because six teams groundshare with Ryman and Southern League sides and fixtures for those leagues are not expected until around July 16/17.
