Colchester United are confident that defender Frankie Kent did not suffer any concussion following his head injury in their 2-1 win over Chesterfield.
The U's teenager centre-back was stretchered off after being hit in the face with the ball at point-blank range in the opening minute of their victory over the Spireites, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Kent required four minutes of treatment before being carried off but reappeared on the Colchester bench before the end of the half, after receiving medical treatment.
He will be checked over again tomorrow when he reports for U's training at Florence Park.
U's head physio Tony Flynn said: "Frankie was dazed but we don't think there was any concussion.
"We think he's alright but we will check him over again tomorrow."
