When a seminal band of the early 1990s plays its seminal track half way through the set you do begin to worry.

When that band is the Charlatans there's probably no need.

The Only One I Know is one of the best songs of the Madchester period and with Stone Roses and Inspiral Carpets for company that is high praise indeed.

It was clearly the highlight of their polished set which started off very well with North Country Boy and One To Another.

They did rather rattle through the good ones which left the audience doubting they could keep up the momentum.

It definitely slightly waned at times and I would perhaps go further to argue they never really captured the crowd's full attention at all.

That aside a rocked-up My Beautiful Friend towards the end confirmed they still had quite a few good ones left up their sleeves despite the best ones being used up already.
