A top vocal coach, star of the stage and former talent show judge has backed either Olly or Stacey to win the X Factor.

Zoe Tyler, of Kelvedon, has starred in West End shows, like Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, for about 15 years.

She said although Olly Murs’s fellow competitor Danyl Johnson has the best voice, the Witham singer offers the whole package.

“I have been following it but I didn’t watch it on Sunday night as I have just finished a tour,” she said.

“I’m glad the judges went with Olly, I knew that he wouldn’t go. He has a great voice and he has a nice tone to it, whether he will win or not I don’t know, I’d say it’s between him and Stacey.”

She added: “Joe has a nice voice, he has a nice vibrato (the warble when holding a note), but Olly has a nice vibrato as well.”

Mrs Tyler, a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women, was a judge on BBC talent shows How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? in 2006 and Any Dream Will Do in 2007.

After performing George Michael’s Fast Love, a surprised Olly, 25, found himself in unfamiliar territory, fighting for survival He breezed through the sing off on Sunday night against brothers John and Edward Grimes as he delivered a classy performance of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight.

Mrs Tyler said: “His voice is never going to be as good as George Michael’s but no-one’s is. He is massively likeable and he is much better than the other young blonde guy (Lloyd Daniels).”

She said Danyl Johnson has “the most amazing voice, that’s a proper voice”.

But while she said the other singers don’t have a voice as strong as Danyl’s “having been on a judging panel I know people don’t always vote for the voice”.

She said: “They are voting for Olly as well because he is nice looking and he seems very down to earth. The fact he was in the bottom two will probably spur more people on to vote for him.”
