I AM searching for an old school friend from wayback in the late 1950s. Peter John McCarthy would now be 75 and we would like to invite him to a reunion in early May at the De Rougemont Manor Hotel. Brentwood.
We lost touch some 50 years ago after doing our National Service, but subsequently did hear that he was working on new developments at Ford Tractors, Basildon, and on one occasion he was spotted in Canvey. Our recent attempts to find him by phoning people in Essex with his surname, and inquiring at Ford’s have proved unsuccessful.
He originally lived in Upton Park, Newham, and was educated at Stratford Grammar School 1945-50.
I have a photograph taken at a party in 1955 and feel sure he will still bear a strong resemblance. The young lady is still alive but she has no information of his whereabouts. Time is running out for all of us, and we would be thrilled to meet up with Peter again.
