WHAT a start to Ware it's At.
Sub Zero at Essex University was my first destination for Razorlight's DJ set.
The venue was not disappointing. The £1.2 million refurbishment last year has made a real difference, with two bar areas, seating and a generous dancefloor to get your groove on.
As for the Razorlight DJ set - it certainly didn't disappoint.
Ten minutes into their set and you could tell that guitarists Bjorn Agren and Carl Dalemo were no strangers to the decks as the crowd responded well on the dancefloor.
I was lucky enough to steal a few minutes with Carl at the DJ stand who confirmed that they had done quite a few DJ sets before and he was pleased with 'the good turn out' at the Uni.
When I asked where Johnny Borrell and Andy Burrows were, Carl wasn't giving anything away.
However, I did manage to find out what lies ahead for Razorlight.
Carl said: "We've had a bit of time off, but rehearsals start next week for the North American tour which is in about two weeks time."
He revealed the band wanted to start on the new album at the beginning of next year, with hopefully the album being released in the summer.
As for what Carl was doing after the set he was going home for, no doubt, a well deserved rest.
For me, however, I was off to Escape in Copford to end the night with the funky flavours of Hed Kandi.
Although arriving later than most to Escape, there was still plenty of people dancing the night away.
Hed Kandi DJs Luke Neville and Andy Warburton were blaring out the latest funky house tunes - as well as old skool classics - while percussionist Rees Bridges added extra rhythm on the drums.
All in all it was a top night.
Stay tuned for the next Ware it's At coming to a club near you soon!
