A MAN has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in Colchester.

Essex Police was called to Castle Park shortly after 2pm on Saturday, October 14 after receiving reports a man was trying to steal another man’s bag.

Officers attended and arrested a 32-year-old man from Colchester on suspicion of attempted robbery.

He has since been released but remains under police investigation.

The force said officers investigating the incident have been unable to locate the victim, leading them to launch an appeal for them to come forward so they can take their account.

A spokesman said: "Despite attempts at the scene officers were unable to locate the victim and we need to speak to them to take their account so we are appealing for this person to come forward."

"If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us," he continued.
