A COLCHESTER primary school is on its way to receiving full marks after impressing an inspector.
Ofsted published its findings after an ungraded inspection of Kendall Church of England Primary School.
Lead inspector Conor Heaven said the school, in Recreation Road, was previously rated 'good' but that he’d seen enough evidence to warrant the top rating of 'outstanding' being awarded if a graded inspection were completed.
He praised the teachers for delivering an “exceptionally well designed” curriculum, while the pupils received praise for having “caring relationships with each other”.

Ofsted said: “Pupils learn extremely well because leaders have designed a curriculum that is ambitious for all.
“The curriculum sets out the detailed knowledge that pupils need to know from early years onwards. Nothing is left to chance.”
Effective safeguarding arrangements, personal development opportunities, and the well-being of staff were also praised following the two-day inspection in June.
Mr Heaven said the staff at the school, which has 210 pupils, feel valued and well supported by headteacher Clare French and the rest of the leadership team.
“Leaders, including governors, work together strategically to improve the school,” his report added.
The school’s next visit from the education watchdog will be its first graded inspection since 2014.
