OKTOBERFEST is returning to Colchester for two days and tickets are selling fast.
The annual event, which offers traditional German beer and food alongside live music and entertainment from oompah bands, will return to Lower Castle Park on October 27 and 28.
Eventgoers can enjoy a wide selection of beers served in up to two-pint steins, which customers can choose to take home.
And if beer isn’t your tipple of choice, there’s plenty of other choices including cider, prosecco, spirits, and wine.
Saturday VIP tables and all Saturday evening tickets have already sold out, but there’s still a chance to grab tickets for the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, with tickets starting from £15.

Oktoberfest Colchester marketing manager Tom Cullen said: “Following a high demand of tickets so far, we are expecting remaining Oktoberfest Colchester tickets to sell out soon.
“Discounted tickets are available on a first come first serve basis and will sell out first, with all Saturday evening tickets and all Saturday VIP tables already sold out.
“We can’t wait for a night of foot stomping, dancing, singing and plenty of bier.”
Oktoberfest claims to be the world’s largest beer and folk festival and has its roots firmly in Munich, Germany, where celebrations start in mid-September.
Millions of people descend on Munich every year to attend while other cities across the world, including Colchester, hold Oktoberfest-style celebrations.
It is believed the 18-day festival in Munich sees six million litres of beer consumed with a soundtrack of Bavarian music to keep everyone entertained.
Oktoberfest comes to Clacton
Clacton is also getting in on the action this year too with a free-to-attend Oktoberfest event planned at Clacton Pier over two weekends.
The 200-year-old event will be coming to the seaside town on September 23 and 24 and will continue on September 30 and October 1.
Pier director Billy Ball said the venue will be getting hold of special beers and providing food to accompany the flavour of the event.
He hopes it will take off and become a regular fixture on the pier’s annual programme.
