A FORMER bank will be developed into a retail unit and four residential units after the approval of plans.
A planning application for the partial demolition of the former Lloyds bank at 86 Church Road in Tiptree has been approved.
The building will be developed into four two-bedroom flats and the ground floor will remain a retail unit.
Each flat in the two-storey building will have a private balcony coming off the main bedrooms at the rear of the property.
The flats have been designed in similarity with the existing flats next door at Ketleys Place.
There are multiple conditions to the approval of the plans, which include the development should not be occupied until the car parking and turning area has been provided to “ensure on-street parking of vehicles does not occur”.
Multiple observations on the plans were submitted by members of the public.
There were two comments in support, three general observations and one objection from residents.
There are also conditions in place to ensure residents are not impacted by “undue noise at unreasonable hours.”
The building work is set to start within three years in accordance with the plans.
