SERVICES provided by Colchester Hospital have been rated as good according to a recent report.

Mental health services at Colchester Hospital, run by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, have once again been rated as good by the Care Quality Commission, according to the latest report. 

The inspector rated the hospital's services through five different categories,  inspecting how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led the services are.

In the 60-page long report, the services were overall rated good, with the care category rated as outstanding and the safety category as requires improvement.

With 763 inpatient beds across 45 wards, 38 of which are children’s mental health beds, the trust is accommodating over 1.3 million people, from the Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Luton areas. 

The report stated: "The trust addressed many of the issues identified at the last inspection in May 2018.

"This included increasing the oversight, monitoring and recruiting leaders in services such as end-of-life care and substance misuse.

"The trust made improvements to medicines management processes and resolved issues with stock rotation.
