A BRAND new Kia dealership boasting a “state of the art” showroom has opened its doors in Colchester today.

The new garage off Ipswich Road will be operated by Glyn Hopkin and serve the city with a full suite of services, including new and used car sales, servicing and MOTs.

It follows the closure of the nearby Underwoods Kia site in Autoway on Saturday after more than a decade.

The new look showroom will be comprised of two distinct zones – a customer zone and a display zone showing off the latest Kia models.

Customers are able to enjoy a brand new interactive showcase system which offers the opportunity to take an in-depth virtual tour of any Kia model.

The Showcase technology demonstrates the different grades and colours of each model via a 360-degree configurator.

Potential buyers can view a car from any angle, open its doors to explore the interior and even add key accessories.

The new Colchester showroom marks the third dealership to open under the partnership between Kia and Glyn Hopkin, with the other two sites located in Romford and east London.

Glyn Hopkin chief executive officer Fraser Cohen said the brand has “big plans” after opening the Colchester garage today.

He said: “Kia is one of the most successful manufacturers in the market today and its fantastic product range, coupled with a phenomenal pipeline of new products including the EV9, makes it a fantastic brand to represent.

“Since opening Kia Romford in 2019 we have built a fabulous relationship with the team at Kia UK.”

“As a group, we have big plans for the future and we are excited that the opening of our third Kia dealership will kick-off the next phase of our growth as we celebrate 30 years in business.”

Glyn Hopkin Kia Colchester is open from today and can be found at the Ardleigh end of Ipswich Road.
