A SINGING superstar popped into an award-winning Colchester wedding shop where he browsed a selection of suits ahead of him tying the knot this summer.

Olly Murs, popstar extraordinaire and television presenter, visited Abigail’s Collection and The Grooms Room last week, in the High Street.

He returned to his favourite city centre store after the wedding experts previously fitted him with a stunning tailcoat three-piece for his friend’s wedding.

During his visit the former Best Man talked all things suits with The Grooms Room boss Rob and met Abigail’s Collection business over with Abi Neil.

He also took time out of his trip to speak with the shop’s “future boss lady” Arabella, who could not believe her luck when the Witham Hitmaker walked through the door.

A spokesman for Abigail’s Collection said: “Our absolute favourite ever TV and pop legend superstar Olly Murs dropped in last week to talk suits – [it was] so exciting.

“Our Arabella was only a little starstruck bless her but she was very professional on reception.

“It was great to have you back in-store with us Mr Murs, as always an absolute pleasure. How blessed are we to have such incredible people visit us?”

His visit to Colchester comes ahead of his forthcoming performance in Castle Park.

Although unconfirmed, it is suspected 38-year-old Olly was potentially at the shop to look at suits for his forthcoming wedding to bodybuilder Amelia Tank.

The couple got engaged in June last year after the singer-songwriter got down on one knee and popped the question.

“We are so excited for the incredible year that these guys have ahead,” added bosses at Abigail’s Collection.

“They are genuinely the nicest celeb couple ever and totally gorgeous too.”

This is not the first time Olly has given up his time to visit Abigail’s Collection or speak with staff.

During the coronavirus lockdown Abi had the honour of interviewing the Dear Darlin’ singer about the wedding at which he was the Best Man.

A spokesman for the shop said: “It was so cool. Olly talked about his role as best man for our groom Jake and lockdown life.

“As you’d expect he looked awesome in our Forton tailcoat at that wedding.”
