OFFICERS are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing man from Chelmsford.

It has been two weeks since Timothy Hatcher, 69, was reported missing. He was last seen on Sunday, December 18 and reported missing to police two days later.

Mr Hatcher was last seen in the Co-op in Meadgate Avenue at around 2.40pm. He has dementia and is vulnerable, having carers visit his home multiple times a day.

Police are now trying to identify a man who was seen with Mr Hatcher at the beginning of December.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are still trying to identify a man, who Timothy was seen with in JD Sports in Chelmer Village on 3 December. We believe he may be able to help us with our enquiries.

“If you’ve seen Timothy or have any information about where he is, please call us on 101 immediately.

“Always dial 999 in an emergency.”

Police have also asked birdwatchers to check hides in and around the Chelmsford area in the hopes of finding him.

Mr Hatcher is said to often wear a distinctive yellow high viz and a black beanie-style hat.
