A DRUG dealer screamed “I ain’t done nothing wrong” to police before speeding off and throwing away 200 drug wraps.

Samuel Lathom was driving in Greenstead in a blacked out silver Ford Focus when police spotted the vehicle.

The officers initially intended to pull Lathom over because they suspected the tinted windows were not legal.

But when they flashed lights to indicate he should stop, he sped off.

When the police car caught up with Lathom, his window was open and he shouted: “I ain’t done nothing wrong,” before accelerating up Hawthorn Avenue, past Colchester Academy towards Bromley Road.

Henny Tatum, prosecuting, said as the two cars sped through Greenstead, Lathom threw about 200 drug wraps from his vehicle into bushes.

Each wrap measured about 1cm.

Eventually, the cars came to a stop in Harwich Road and the 30-year-old, from Dagenham, was arrested and taken to Colchester police station.

His car was also searched and officers found 37 extra drug wraps in the driver side footwell.

When Lathom was searched at the police station, £375 in cash was found in his left shoe and £210 was found in his right shoe.

A further £145 in cash was found in the car alongside a black Nokia mobile phone.

Lathom’s DNA was also found on all wraps which were recovered.

Lathom appeared in the dock at Colchester Magistrates’ Court yesterday and admitted possessing cannabis, cocaine and heroin with intent to supply. on May 27.

He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Magistrates declined to sentence the drug dealer and warned him to expect “inevitable custody” when he appears at Ipswich Crown Court next month. He was released on unconditional bail.
