THREE people were treated by ambulance crews after double decker bus ended up in a ditch.
The 67 First bus crashed while driving along The Strood in West Mersea this afternoon.
An ambulance crew, ambulance officer and the East Anglia Air Ambulance attended.
Most of the bus passengers got off the bus unscathed.
A spokesman for First said a girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver and a colleague were suffering from shock.
No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
The accident blocked Mersea Road, with motorists reporting long queues of traffic trying to get onto the island.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
