A WORRIED mother has issued a warning to other parents after a man tried to lure her 13-year-old son into his car.
Mum-of-three Keirsten Chamberlain, from Stanway, had taken son Jordan to play football with his friends.
He was waiting in a cul-de-sac in West Bergholt to be collected when the man approached.
Mrs Chamberlain said: “A man tried to coax him into the back of his car, but he got away.”
Police are taking the incident seriously and are due to speak to the victim to put together an e-fit of the suspect.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “It was reported that a light blue car driven by a white man had pulled up alongside a 13-yearold boy on the street.
“He beckoned for the boy to approach before driving the car closer which blocked the boy’s path.
“The victim ran away and was shaken up.”
The incident took place at about 4.30pm on Wednesday near the junction of Lexden Road and Sackville Way inWest Bergholt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Colchester police station on 101.
