IMPROVEMENTS to the library at King’s Ford Junior School, Colchester, went swimmingly after the school decided to give it an underwater theme.
The pupils crafted some loom band seaweed, while the parents fashioned a coral reef and a Girl Guide unit crafted some felt fish.
With a grant from the Ministry of Defence’s Education Support Fund, the school hired a carpenter to make some new library shelving and artist Sarah Warren painted a sea-themed mural at the entrance.
Colchester MPWill Quince was on hand to officially open the new and improved facility.
Headteacher Karen Wallace said: “All the staff, parents and outside contractors who have helped have done an excellent job and I am delighted with the final outcome.”
