A total of 16 new vehicles, at a cost of £2.4million, are being rolled out by First Essex Buses.
The fleet, manufactured in Northern Ireland by Wrightbus, will feature a mix of single and double decker buses, each of which will have on board wifi.
There will also be extra space for wheelchair users and prams.
Alex Jones, Interim Managing Director of First Essex, said: “Our £2.4million investment in 16 new vehicles is great news for our customers and underlines our continuing determination to provide ever better bus services in our area and encourage more people to travel by bus.”
