AN inquest will be opened tomorrow after a teenager was found dead in Colchester.

The body, believed to be of Shane Warne, 18, from Coggeshall, was discovered on a public green on Saturday.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Police were alerted to the sudden death of a man near Harwich Road shortly before 4pm.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.”

Area coroner Eleanor McGann will open and adjourn the inquest in Chelmsford tomorrow.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 3.49pm on Saturday.

“An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer attended.

“Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for the patient.

Sister Billy-Joe Warne broke the tragic news to friends on Saturday via Facebook.

She wrote: “ Unfortunately our brother Shane Warne has sadly taken his own life today.

“Very sad day for the family.

“Just wanted to let everyone who cared and loved him, that he has passed away.

“We will love you unconditionally.”

Sibling Ricki Warne added: “I love you and always will.

“RIP brother I hope you’re watching us.

“I'm so sorry that you’re gone.

“I will get a tattoo in memory of you.

“Always in my heart brother. Love you load. RIP Shane.”

Mr Warne, who attended New Rickstones Academy in Witham, worked at Baumanns Brasserie in Coggeshall.

His colleagues, after hearing the news wrote: “Today we remember our good friend and colleague Shane Warne. God bless his soul.”

Many of his friends have posted their own tributes online to his devastated family.
