A MOBILE phone app invented by a group of north Essex teenagers to help the victims of bullying has caught the eye of Dragon’s Den businesswoman Kelly Hoppen.

Ramsden Hall School pupils Nick Nash, 14, Alex Stephens, 14, Ray Grice, 13, Lewis Smith, 15, and Ryan Storrie, 13, designed the School Anti-Bullying App – Saba for short – as a new way to encourage children to report bullying.

It allows victims or witnesses of bullying to message a teacher of their choice to tell them what has happened.

The group, who all go to the Langham school for boys with behavioural and emotional difficulties, hope taking away the need to speak directly to a teacher will encourage more children to report incidents.

The teenagers presented their idea to a team of judges during a Dragon’s Den-style competition at an anti-bully charity conference, run by the organsers of the Diana Award.
